100% of funds raised through Urban Project are used to support disadvantaged youth in AT LEAST ONE of the following ways during each project cycle:

1. To pay young people’s public school fees
2. To pay young people’s tuition fees for specific training programs or courses that have a direct impact on young people’s employability
3. To support young people’s artistic endeavors when it is clear that this will have a direct impact on young people’s employability
4. To set up safer housing situations for youth who are currently living on the streets
5. To pay young people’s salaries when the project involves specific activities that require a workforce

We are committed to using all funds raised in ways that bring about both immediate and sustainable benefits to the young people with whom we are working. However, we want to go beyond simply redistributing funds to engage youth in artistic projects that are enriching and empowering experiences for everyone involved. Each project must include ALL OF the following:

1. An artistic focus that is congruent with young people’s interests and skills
2. Training for the young people involved in how to initiate and carry out specific aspects of the project
3. A strategy for raising community and/or international awareness about youth and poverty
4. A strategy for disseminating the result(s) of the project back to the youth involved when applicable

Eligible youth will be those living below the poverty line, according to the standard of living in their country of origin. Eligible youth will not be determined according to strict age limitations. Although every effort will be made to involve as many youth as possible in a given project cycle, the small size of our organization and numerous practical issues mean that, realistically, we will only be able to provide assistance to a limited number of youth each project cycle. The exact number of youth who will receive assistance during a given project cycle will differ depending on the project selected, and the amount of money we raise. Urban Project aims to help a minimum of 20 youth per project cycle.
